This Colt™ 8 inch reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly prevents the reverse flow of non-potable water and fire protection substances into the potable water supply, caused by backsiphonage or backpressure. It is ideal for protection at cross-connections identified as health hazards, such as on fire sprinkler systems and from other contaminants at the service line entrance.

Design & Function

• Features an extremely compact, modular design with a single access cover for easy maintenance.
• Constructed with a 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel body and a quick access sleeve.
• Includes torsion spring check valves and outside stem and yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves.
• Equipped with a corrosive-resistant bottom-mounted pressure relief valve and test cocks.
• Incorporates a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge or excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
• When paired with an add-on connection kit, the flood sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events.
