Additional Details

This 8 inch lead free MasterSeries® LF856 Double Check Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly protects drinking water supplies from non-health hazard pollutants due to backpressure or backsiphonage. It is primarily used for the protection of non-health hazard cross-connections and for containment at the service line entrance, commonly found in fire sprinkler and standpipe systems that require detection of unauthorized water use.

The assembly consists of a durable ductile iron body, two in-line independent check valves, replaceable stainless steel check seats, and outside stem and yoke (OS&Y) resilient seated domestic gate valve shutoff valves. It also includes a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass and ball valve test cocks. The iron components are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates.
