Help Me Connect

Flood Sensor Connection

  • This backflow preventer includes an integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology designed to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • To enable the flood sensor to communicate and provide alerts, an add-on connection kit is required.
  • Available connection kit options support integration with Building Automation Systems (BMS), cellular networks, or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi, as well as RS-485 Modbus.

Bypass Meter

  • The assembly features a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass which helps in detecting potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage within your water system.

Assembly Configuration Note

  • This specific product (8 LF866-LG-GPM-FS) is supplied without shutoff valves. To ensure a complete and approved installation that meets regulatory requirements, you will need to procure and install appropriate UL Classified and FM Approved OS&Y resilient wedge gate valves separately.

Additional Details

This 8 inch lead free MasterSeries® reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly protects against high hazard (toxic) fluids in water services for industrial installations and applications. This specific assembly is supplied without shutoff valves and includes a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass.

It features a ductile iron body coated with patented 3-part ArmorTek® epoxy coating engineered to limit microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, ensuring enhanced durability and extended valve life. The design incorporates replaceable stainless steel check seats and a stainless-steel relief valve seat for maximum performance and reliability.

Flood Sensor Technology

  • This assembly includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • To activate the flood sensor and relay alerts for potential flooding events, an add-on connection kit is required.
  • Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Bypass Assembly

  • Equipped with a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass to detect potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.
  • The bypass line includes ball valve test cocks.

This assembly is supplied without shutoff valves, and therefore is NOT an approved assembly on its own. It requires the addition of approved shutoff valves to meet regulatory requirements.
