FAQs
What is the primary purpose of this 8-inch LF870W-DNRS backflow preventer?
The primary purpose is to prevent the backflow of polluted, non-health hazard water from entering the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It's suitable for continuous pressure piping applications.
What does the ArmorTek® coating do?
The ArmorTek® coating is a patented 3-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is designed to limit both microbial induced (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion, enhancing the assembly's durability and lifespan.
What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?
This assembly includes domestic non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves, which are compliant with AWWA C509 Standard.
What are the installation requirements for the "N-Pattern" configuration?
The N-Pattern configuration (LF870W) requires vertical installation, meaning the inlet flow should be vertical up and the outlet flow should be vertical down.
What are the maximum operating pressure and temperature for this backflow preventer?
This backflow preventer has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar) and can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F – 140°F (0.5°C – 60°C).
