FAQs
What does "lead free" mean for this backflow preventer?
Lead free for this product means that the wetted surfaces, which come into contact with consumable water, contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.
What type of backflow conditions does this assembly protect against?
This double check valve assembly protects against both backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, preventing polluted water from entering the potable water supply in non-health hazard (pollutant) applications.
Can this 8-inch backflow preventer be installed in any orientation?
No, the LF870WZ model is specifically designed for Z-pattern vertical up installations, where both the inlet and outlet flow are vertical up.
What are the key maintenance features of this backflow preventer?
This assembly is designed for in-line servicing with no special tools required. It features a captured modular spring assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, field replaceable seats, and commonality between 1st and 2nd check components, all contributing to easy maintenance.
What is ArmorTek® coating and why is it important?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body's internal and external surfaces. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect the exposed metal substrate, enhancing the valve's durability and lifespan.
