FAQs
What is the primary function of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF876V 8 inch backflow preventer?
This backflow preventer is designed to protect potable drinking water and fire sprinkler systems from contamination caused by non-health hazard pollutants due to backsiphonage or backpressure conditions. It prevents reverse flow into the main water supply.
What does the 'LF' in LF876V signify?
The 'LF' indicates that the product is Lead Free. The wetted surfaces of this assembly contain less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with lead-free regulations for potable water systems.
How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit this backflow preventer?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system that coats the iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, significantly extending the product's lifespan and maintaining its performance.
Can this backflow preventer be installed in different orientations?
Yes, this MasterSeries LF876V assembly supports both horizontal (N-pattern) and vertical-up (Z-pattern) installations. This configurable design provides flexibility to minimize installation footprint and reduce costs.
What is the purpose of the GPM metered bypass on this assembly?
The bypass line on this backflow preventer includes a gallons per minute (GPM) water meter. This feature is designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage within the system, helping to monitor water consumption and system integrity.
