Additional Details

This Colt™ 8 inch Lead Free Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination due to backsiphonage and backpressure. It is ideal for safeguarding against health hazards at cross-connections, such as fire sprinkler systems and service line entrances, while also monitoring for unauthorized water use.

The LFC500 series features a compact, modular design with a quick-access stainless steel sleeve and includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology.

Key Features

  • Provides protection against backsiphonage and backpressure contamination.
  • Lead Free* construction for potable water systems.
  • Manufactured with a Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel body and sleeve for durability.
  • Features a bottom-mounted cast stainless steel relief valve with integrated flood detection sensor.
  • Includes a metered bypass with a gallon per minute meter for detecting leaks and unauthorized water usage.
  • Equipped with UL Classified and FM Approved outside stem and yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves.
  • Flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive relief valve discharge; requires an add-on connection kit for active alerts.
  • Extremely compact design, 70% lighter than traditional designs.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor for communication; without it, the flood sensor is a passive component. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
