Operation

The Zurn Wilkins ZW215FP employs a pressure relief pilot valve installed on the discharge side of the control circuitry. The pilot valve is direct acting, normally closed, spring loaded, and diaphragm actuated. A sensing line runs externally from the suction side of the pump to the pilot control chamber. Suction pressure exceeding the preset of the pilot opens the pilot valve, which then modulates the main valve's diaphragm assembly, maintaining suction pressure within narrow limits regardless of changing flow rates or outlet pressure.
