Additional Details
The 3 inch Febco LF870V Double Check Valve Assembly with Non-Rising Stem (NRS) gate valves is designed to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions caused by non-health hazard (pollutant) backflow.
This assembly is ideal for containing objectionable but non-toxic pollutants at the service line entrance or for non-health hazard cross-connections.
Key Features
- Lead Free* construction, with wetted surfaces containing less than 0.25% lead by weight, complies with low lead installation requirements.
- Utilizes ArmorTek® coating technology, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to internal and external surfaces, to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates.
- Features an in-line serviceable design with top-entry covers for both check modules, requiring no special tools for maintenance.
- Equipped with two (2) independently acting, approved clapper style check modules with replaceable seats and disc rubbers.
- Configurable for both Horizontal (N-pattern) and Vertical Up (Z-pattern) installations; shipped in standard N-pattern.
- Includes stainless steel check components, captured modular spring assembly, and field replaceable seats.
- Designed with a ductile iron valve body and ball valve test cocks.
Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements prior to installation.

FAQs
What is the primary use of the Febco 3" LF870V Double Check Valve Assembly?
This assembly is primarily used to prevent backflow of non-health hazard pollutants into potable drinking water systems due to backsiphonage or backpressure conditions. It's suitable for cross-connections where pollutants are objectionable but not toxic.
What type of shutoff valves does this backflow preventer use?
The Febco LF870V model 0124543 comes equipped with Non-Rising Stem (NRS) resilient wedge gate valves, which comply with AWWA Standard C509.
Is this assembly lead-free?
Yes, this product features Lead Free* construction. The wetted surface that contacts consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, meeting low lead installation requirements.
What are the approved installation orientations for this valve assembly?
The assembly is approved for both horizontal (N-pattern) and vertical-up (Z-pattern) installations. It is shipped from the factory in the standard N-pattern configuration.
What is ArmorTek coating and what are its benefits?
ArmorTek is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the internal and external surfaces of the backflow preventer's iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate, enhancing durability and longevity.
