The Febco 6 inch LF870V MasterSeries Lead Free Double Check Valve Assembly protects potable water systems from non-health hazard backflow caused by backsiphonage or backpressure. Featuring a ductile iron body with ArmorTek epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, this 175 psi rated device includes OS&Y gate valves and stainless steel check components. The FEBCO 6 inch LF870V MasterSeries® Double Check Valve Assembly is designed to prevent the backflow of polluted water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure conditions. It is ideal for continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as non-health hazards. This assembly is lead-free and features a compact, modular design for easy in-line maintenance.

Construction & Design

  • Features a ductile iron valve body (Grade 65-45-12) with a patented 3-part ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating system, applied internally and externally, to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates.
  • Equipped with domestic OS&Y (Outside Stem & Yoke) resilient seated gate valves that are AWWA C515 compliant and UL Classified/FM Approved.
  • Two in-line independent clapper-style check modules with stainless steel components, field-replaceable seats, and reversible and replaceable silicone discs.
  • The design allows for servicing of check modules through independently top entry covers without special tools.
  • Includes four (4) properly located resilient seated test cocks.
  • Designed for winterization with disc retainers and valve body drain ports.
  • Commonality between 1st and 2nd check components with a captured O-ring design.

Installation & Orientation

  • Approved for both horizontal (N-pattern) and vertical-up (Z-pattern) installations.
  • The valve assembly is shipped in the standard N-pattern orientation, where inlet flow is vertical up and outlet flow is vertical down.
