This repair kit is designed for the relief valve assembly of Watts 009M1 Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventers. It provides all necessary components to replace the major internal parts of the relief valve for 1 1/4 inch, 1 1/2 inch, and 2 inch models of the 009M1 series.

Watts Series 009 Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies are "contractor grade" RPZ devices, produced since 1989. These devices feature a one-cover design. The smaller 1/4 - 2 inch models are constructed of bronze and utilize check modules that slide into the body, secured by a retainer. The relief valve assembly is positioned directly under the cover, between the retainer. Both the check modules and relief valve assembly are designed for easy servicing.

Over time, Watts has introduced slight redesigns, known as "modifications," resulting in models tagged as 009, 009M1, 009M2, and 009M3. While their external appearance is similar, their internal parts are distinctly different. Always verify your specific valve model before ordering replacement parts.
