Additional Details

This 1 1/4 inch lead free reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly prevents the reverse flow of high hazard (toxic) fluids from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

It is designed for use in a variety of water services requiring maximum protection, including industrial plants, hospitals, morgues, mortuaries, chemical plants, irrigation systems, boiler feed, and water lines.

Key Features

  • Features a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve.
  • An add-on connection kit (sold separately) is required to activate the flood sensor for remote alerts.
  • Modular relief valve and check valves for easy inline maintenance.
  • Includes quarter turn shutoff ball valves and top-mounted test cocks.
  • Constructed with a Lead Free* cast copper silicon alloy body for reduced lead content.

The flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to be fully activated for communication and does not replace the need for proper drainage or compliance with installation codes.

FAQs

What type of contamination does this backflow preventer protect against?

This device protects potable water systems against cross-connection contamination from high hazard (toxic) fluids, preventing both backsiphonage and backpressure conditions.

Is the flood sensor functional right out of the box for remote alerts?

No, the integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology requires an add-on sensor connection kit (sold separately) to be fully activated for communication and remote alerts. Without the kit, the sensor is a passive component.

What materials are used in the construction of this backflow preventer?

The main valve body and shutoff valves are constructed from Lead Free* cast copper silicon alloy. Elastomers are silicone, and springs are stainless steel.

What are the operating pressure and temperature limits for this assembly?

This backflow preventer has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar) and an operating temperature range of 32°F to 140°F (0°C to 60°C).

Where is this backflow preventer typically installed?

It is used in water services for industrial plants, hospitals, morgues, mortuaries, chemical plants, irrigation systems, boiler feed, and other installations requiring maximum protection for potable water.
