Additional Details

This Watts Series SS009 1/2 inch stainless steel reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the flow of polluted water from entering the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It complies with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements, making it ideal for a variety of health hazard installations where downstream liquid may damage bronze or where lead/copper trace elements need to be eliminated.

Key Features

  • Investment Cast 316 Stainless Steel Assembly for superior corrosion resistance.
  • All wetted valve components, including test cocks, ball valve shutoffs, and pipe nipples, are made from Lead Free* stainless steel or plastic.
  • Features NPT inlet and outlet connections.
  • Quarter turn full port resilient seated ball valve shutoffs with tee handles.
  • Top-mounted, vandal-resistant EZ-TC test cocks provide easy access for testing.
  • Modular check construction with nonreversible checks and captured springs for simplified servicing.
  • True line sized check modules open further for dirt and debris to pass freely, reducing fouling.
  • Replaceable check and relief valve seats for economical repair without special tools.
  • Internal relief valve for right and left hand installations.
  • Equipped with a flood sensor on the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without this kit, the sensor is a passive component with no communication. Use of the flood sensor does not replace compliance with all installation, operation, and maintenance instructions, codes, and regulations, including proper drainage for discharges.
