Additional Details

The FEBCO Series 860 1 1/2 inch Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer assembly protects drinking water supplies from dangerous cross-connections, preventing reverse flow of high hazard fluids into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

It is suitable for use in industrial plants, hospitals, irrigation systems, boiler feed lines, and other non-potable service applications requiring maximum protection.

Features

  • Includes SentryPlus Alert® technology with an integrated flood sensor to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve.
  • Enables flood monitoring and alerts when paired with an add-on sensor connection kit (sold separately).
  • Sensor connection kit options include compatibility with BMS, cellular communication, or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi for integration with BAS.
  • Features a durable bronze body with top entry access.
  • Equipped with modular relief valve and check valves for easy maintenance.
  • Includes quarter turn shutoff ball valves and top-mounted test cocks.

Components

  • Two independently operating, spring-loaded check valves.
  • A pressure differential relief valve located between the check valves.
  • Bronze body, caps, and relief valve body/cover.
  • Two quarter turn shutoff valves and four test cocks.

WARNING: It is illegal to use this product in any plumbing system providing water for human consumption, such as drinking or dishwashing, in the United States. Always consult local water authority, building, and plumbing codes before installation.

NOTICE: An add-on sensor connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert features. Without this kit, the sensor acts as a passive component without communication capability.

NOTICE: The flood sensor is an alert system and does not replace the need to comply with all installation, operation, and maintenance codes and regulations, including providing proper drainage for discharge.

NOTICE: Always read all installation instructions and product safety information thoroughly before beginning installation. Consult governing authorities for local installation requirements.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of the FEBCO Series 860 backflow preventer?

The primary purpose is to protect potable drinking water supplies from contamination by preventing the reverse flow of high-hazard (toxic) fluids due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

What applications is this backflow preventer suitable for?

It is suitable for non-potable service applications such as industrial plants, hospitals, irrigation systems, boiler feed lines, morgues, mortuaries, and chemical plants, or any installation requiring maximum protection against cross-connections.

How does the flood sensor feature work?

The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate alert notifications, an add-on sensor connection kit is required, which enables communication via BMS, cellular, or Wi-Fi.

What are the pressure and temperature limits for this assembly?

This backflow preventer has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar) and can operate within a temperature range of 32°F to 140°F (0°C to 60°C).

Are there any legal restrictions for using this product?

Yes, it is illegal to use this product in any plumbing system providing water for human consumption, such as drinking or dishwashing, in the United States. Always consult local water authorities and codes before installation.
