Flood Sensor Connection
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert features and enable communication. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component.
- Connection kit options allow compatibility with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, and integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform by Wi-Fi when using the Sensor Control Monitor.
Drain Line Installation
- When installing a drain line on Series 957 backflow preventers, utilize 957AG air gaps.
- Attach the air gap brackets directly onto the flood sensor for proper installation.
General Installation
- Always refer to the full product installation and safety information provided by Watts.
- Consult with governing authorities for local installation requirements and codes.

Additional Details
The Watts Series 957 Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly provides comprehensive protection for potable water systems against contamination from both backpressure and backsiphonage. This 10-inch lead-free assembly is designed for health hazard applications and features non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves and an integrated flood sensor.
This backflow preventer is exceptionally compact, up to 70% lighter than traditional designs, and approved for horizontal installation. It utilizes a 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve with groove fittings for easy installation and pipeline alignment.
Flood Detection & Alert System
- Equipped with a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve.
- Relays a signal to facility personnel for corrective action, limiting potential flooding and costly damage.
- Requires an add-on connection kit to activate the flood sensor's alert features and enable communication.
- Compatible with Building Management Systems (BMS) and cellular networks when paired with an appropriate connection kit.
- Integrates with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform by Wi-Fi connectivity when using the Sensor Control Monitor connection kit.
Design & Serviceability
- Features patented torsion spring checks for the lowest pressure loss in its class.
- Replaceable check disc rubber and a bottom-mounted cast stainless steel relief valve ensure unmatched ease of serviceability.
- Test cocks are made from Lead Free* bronze body.
Installation Notice: Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge. It is essential to thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information before beginning installation.
