Help Me Connect
Flood Sensor Connectivity
- The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- To activate the sensor's alert relay function, an add-on connection kit is required.
- Connection kit options include direct integration with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
- Without a connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.

Additional Details
This 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic applications, commonly found in industrial installations.
Construction & Materials
- The assembly features an epoxy coated ductile iron body, domestic non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves, test cocks, spring-loaded check valves, and a pressure differential relief valve.
- The ductile iron body is fused with patented 3-part ArmorTek® epoxy coating, applied to internal and external surfaces for advanced protection against both microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
- Internal components include a stainless-steel relief valve seat and stainless-steel check components for maximum performance, durability, and extended valve life.
- Lead Free construction ensures wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight.
Flood Detection
- An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor and enable it to relay multichannel alerts for potential flooding events. Connection kit options include Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

FAQs
What is this product primarily used for?
This Lead Free MasterSeries® LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone assembly is used to protect potable drinking water systems against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, specifically for high hazard/toxic applications in industrial settings.
Does this backflow preventer include shutoff valves?
Yes, this assembly is fitted with domestic non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves, which comply with AWWA C509 standards.
What is ArmorTek® coating?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is designed to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces both internally and externally.
How does the flood sensor function?
The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate the sensor and enable alert notifications, an add-on connection kit is required.
Is this product safe for potable water?
Yes, this backflow preventer features Lead Free construction, meaning that the wetted surfaces of the product contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, making it suitable for potable drinking water systems.
