FAQs

What is the primary use of the LF860 backflow preventer?

The FEBCO LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer is primarily used to protect against high hazard (toxic) fluids in water services for industrial installations and applications. It prevents contaminated water from flowing back into the potable water supply.

What type of shutoff valves does this assembly use?

This 10-inch LF860 backflow preventer is equipped with non-rising stem (NRS) shutoff valves. These valves provide reliable isolation for maintenance and system control.

How does the ArmorTek® coating protect the backflow preventer?

The patented 3-part ArmorTek® epoxy coating system is fused to the ductile iron body, both internally and externally. It is designed to limit microbial induced corrosion (MIC) and protect against exposed metal substrate corrosion, extending the assembly's lifespan.

Does this backflow preventer include a flood sensor?

Yes, the LF860 assembly includes an integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology. This sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve, indicating potential issues.

Can the flood sensor provide remote alerts?

Yes, when paired with an add-on connection kit, the flood sensor can relay alerts for potential flooding events. Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, or a Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.
