Item number F683184.

Help Me Connect

Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit (sold separately) to activate and relay alerts.
  • Connection kit options include those for Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus, cellular network communication, or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
  • Without a connection kit, the flood sensor functions as a passive component and does not communicate with external devices.

Main Connections

  • This assembly features flanged end connections, which are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards. Ensure your piping system has matching flange connections for proper installation.

Additional Details

The 10 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF866V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly with OSY shutoff valves is designed to protect potable drinking water systems against backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard/toxic applications. This lead free assembly features an integrated flood sensor to detect excessive relief valve discharges, helping to notify personnel of potential flooding.

Construction & Protection

  • Features a durable ductile iron body (Grade 65-45-12) for both the main valve and relief valve.
  • Equipped with ArmorTek® coating technology, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, applied to internal and external surfaces to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components ensure maximum performance and extended durability.
  • Inline serviceable design for main valve and bypass assembly; no special tools required for maintenance.

Flood Detection & Alerting

  • Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology on the relief valve to detect continuous water discharge.
  • When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor activates to relay alerts (call, email, text) for potential flooding events.
  • Add-on connection kit options allow integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi, or cellular communication.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation. Proper drainage is still required.

Bypass Assembly with Meter

  • Compact detector bypass assembly remains within the main valve assembly profile.
  • Includes a gallons per minute (GPM) water meter (5/8" x 3/4", ANSI/AWWA C700 Compliant) to detect potential underground leaks or unauthorized water usage.
  • Bypass features an inline serviceable 3/4" check assembly with field replaceable seat and disc.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly?

Its primary purpose is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard/toxic applications, complying with local governing water utility codes.

Is this backflow preventer assembly lead free?

Yes, it features lead-free construction, meaning the wetted surface of the product contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, to comply with low lead installation requirements.

How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit the assembly?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to internal and external ductile iron surfaces. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect against exposed metal substrate corrosion, extending the assembly's lifespan.

What is the function of the integrated flood sensor, and how is it activated?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve, signaling potential flooding. To activate its alert capabilities (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit (e.g., for BMS, cellular, or Wi-Fi integration) must be installed. Without it, the sensor is passive.

What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?

This assembly is fitted with Outside Stem and Yoke (OSY) resilient wedge gate valves. These shutoff valves are UL Classified and FM Approved, and comply with AWWA C515.
