Flood Sensor Connectivity

This backflow preventer includes an integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology, designed to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate the sensor's alert capabilities and receive notifications, an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the sensor functions as a passive component and does not communicate with external devices.

  • Connection Kit Options: Available kits can integrate with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.
  • Bypass Connections: The detector bypass assembly helps identify potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.

Additional Details

This 10 inch lead free MasterSeries® LF866V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly provides robust protection against backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard (toxic) potable water systems. It is engineered for industrial installations and applications where local codes mandate protection from non-potable water contamination.

This assembly incorporates an ArmorTek® patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system, which is applied to the ductile iron internal and external surfaces of the valve body. This coating is designed to actively reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, ensuring enhanced durability and extended valve life.

Features

  • Construction: Features a ductile iron valve body and relief valve body (Grade 65-45-12) with advanced ArmorTek® coating for corrosion resistance.
  • Check Components: Equipped with a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and long-term durability. Includes replaceable seats and reversible, replaceable Silicone discs.
  • Shutoff Valves: Includes OSY (Outside Stem and Yoke) resilient wedge gate shutoff valves that are UL Classified and FM Approved.
  • Flood Detection: Integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve, signaling potential flooding.
  • Bypass Assembly: A detector bypass assembly is included, designed to identify potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage. This configuration does not include a bypass meter.
  • Lead Free: Constructed with Lead Free materials, ensuring compliance with low lead installation requirements.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert capabilities. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with other devices. Watts® is not responsible for alert failures due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.
