Description

The FEBCO 10 inch Lead Free LF880W/WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly provides crucial protection against high hazard backpressure and backsiphonage in potable water systems. Designed with an N-pattern configuration, it allows for competitor drop-in replacement due to its longer lay length. It features a durable ductile iron body with ArmorTek coating and stainless steel internal components for extended life and reliability. Domestic Non-Rising Stem (NRS) shutoff valves are included. An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert technology detects excessive discharge, enhancing system monitoring when connected with an add-on kit. Max working pressure is 175 psi, with a temperature range of 33-140°F. Item number F8007361.

Connections & Compatibility

This 10 inch LF880W/WZ backflow preventer is designed for N-pattern (horizontal) installations and offers a longer gate-to-gate lay-length for direct drop-in replacement of existing competitor's N-pattern valves. End connections are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to be activated. This kit allows for communication via BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor, enabling integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details

This 10 inch MasterSeries LF880W/WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems against high hazard (toxic) backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in industrial installations and applications. It features a longer lay-length for drop-in replacement of competitor's N-pattern valves and is equipped with a flood sensor to detect excessive water discharge.

Key Features

  • Lead Free construction to comply with low lead installation requirements.
  • Ductile iron valve body with ArmorTek® powder coating applied to internal and external surfaces for superior corrosion resistance against electrochemical and microbial-induced corrosion.
  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components ensure maximum performance and durability, yielding greater dependability and extended valve life.
  • Longer gate-to-gate length for drop-in replacement of competitor's valves in N-pattern orientation.
  • Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools for maintenance.
  • Features captured modular spring assembly, clapper check assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, and field replaceable seats.
  • Includes domestic non-rising stem (NRS) shutoff valves (AWWA C509 Compliant).

Flood Sensor Technology

  • Equipped with a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology on the relief valve to detect continuous water discharges.
  • When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events via BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor (integrates with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi).

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required installation instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

FAQs

What is the primary function of this backflow preventer?

This MasterSeries LF880W/WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from high hazard (toxic) backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in industrial installations and applications.

What does 'Lead Free' mean for this product?

The 'Lead Free' construction indicates that the wetted surface of the product contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

How does the integrated flood sensor work?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When paired with an add-on connection kit, it can relay alerts via BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor.

What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?

This assembly is fitted with domestic Non-Rising Stem (NRS) resilient wedge gate valves, which are compliant with AWWA C509 standards.

What are the maximum operating pressure and temperature range for this backflow preventer?

This backflow preventer has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar) and can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
