Description

The 10 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF880W/WZ is a lead-free reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly designed to protect potable water systems from high hazard toxic fluids. Its ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek advanced epoxy for superior corrosion resistance and features stainless steel relief valve seats and check components for maximum durability. This N-pattern valve offers a longer lay-length for easy drop-in replacement of competitor units. An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert technology detects excessive relief valve discharge, providing critical notification when paired with an add-on connection kit. Item number F8007362.

Installation Orientation

  • This assembly is designed for N-pattern installation (horizontal flow orientation). It can also be configured for vertical up or vertical down N-pattern installation.
  • Offers a longer gate-to-gate length for drop-in replacement of existing competitor's N-pattern valves.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology is a passive component until activated by an add-on connection kit. Connection kit options include:

  • Integration with a Building Management System (BMS)
  • Cellular communication for remote alerts
  • Connection to the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

It is essential to acquire the appropriate connection kit for the desired alert functionality.

Additional Details

This 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly protects potable water systems from high hazard (toxic) fluids due to backpressure and backsiphonage in industrial installations and applications.

It features a longer gate-to-gate lay-length, making it suitable as a drop-in replacement for competitor’s N-pattern valves.

Construction & Features

  • Equipped with a ductile iron valve body that is epoxy coated with ArmorTek® advanced coating technology, providing integrated protection against electrochemical and microbial-induced corrosion.
  • Includes domestic OSY resilient seated gate valves, spring-loaded check valves, and a pressure differential relief valve.
  • Features a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance, durability, and extended valve life.
  • Designed for inline serviceable assembly without special tools.
  • Incorporates a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, notifying personnel of potential flooding when activated by an add-on connection kit.

NOTICE: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. The flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of this backflow preventer assembly?

This 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries Reduced Pressure Zone assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination by high hazard (toxic) fluids caused by backpressure or backsiphonage.

Is this backflow preventer compatible with existing installations?

Yes, it features a longer gate-to-gate length, making it suitable for drop-in replacement of competitor N-pattern valves. It can be installed in vertical up or vertical down N-pattern orientations.

What is the function of the integrated flood sensor?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated by an add-on connection kit, it can relay signals to notify personnel of potential flooding.

What materials are used in the construction of this backflow preventer?

The main valve and relief valve bodies are made from Ductile Iron Grade 65-45-12, coated with ArmorTek powder coating. Key internal components like the relief valve seat and check components are stainless steel, and elastomer discs are silicone.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature range?

The maximum working pressure for this assembly is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and it can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
