Description

This 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly (F8007373) offers high-hazard protection for potable water systems. Its Z-pattern orientation and extended lay length allow for easy drop-in replacement. Featuring domestic non-rising stem shutoff valves, an ArmorTek® epoxy coated ductile iron body, and stainless steel internal components, it ensures durability. A built-in flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive relief valve discharge, relaying alerts when paired with a connection kit. This assembly is ASSE 1013, UL, FM, IAPMO/cUPC, and AWWA C511 compliant, with a 175 PSI maximum working pressure.

Help Me Connect

This 10 inch backflow preventer assembly is designed for Z-pattern vertical up installations and features a longer gate-to-gate length to facilitate drop-in replacement of competitor's valves. The end connections are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

Additional Details

This 10 inch lead free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from high hazard (toxic) fluids due to backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in industrial and other applications.

Featuring a Z-pattern orientation and domestic non-rising stem (NRS) shutoff valves, this assembly offers a longer gate-to-gate length for convenient drop-in replacement of competitor's valves.

Key Features

  • Lead Free construction complies with low lead installation requirements.
  • ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating on ductile iron body resists microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protects metal substrate.
  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components ensure maximum performance and durability.
  • Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools for maintenance.
  • Can be installed in a vertical up Z-pattern orientation.
  • Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • The flood sensor relays a signal for multichannel alerts (call, email, text) when activated with an add-on connection kit.
  • Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, or integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi using the Sensor Control Monitor.
  • Features captured modular spring assembly, clapper check assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, and field replaceable seats.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.

Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of the LF880WZ-DNRS RP-FS backflow preventer?

The primary purpose of this 10 inch Lead Free RPZ backflow preventer is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination by high hazard (toxic) fluids caused by backpressure and backsiphonage.

Is an additional kit required to activate the flood sensor?

Yes, an add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without it, the sensor is a passive component and will not communicate alerts.

What type of shutoff valves does this assembly use?

This assembly is equipped with domestic non-rising stem (NRS) shutoff valves, which comply with AWWA C509 standards.

What are the key materials used in the construction of this backflow preventer?

The main valve body and relief valve body are made of ductile iron grade 65-45-12 with ArmorTek® epoxy coating. Key internal components like the relief valve seat, check components, disc holder, and springs are stainless steel, and elastomer discs are silicone.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature range?

The maximum working pressure is 175 PSI (12.1 bar). It can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
