Description

This 10 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V is a lead free, N pattern, reduced pressure zone detector backflow preventer assembly designed for high hazard and toxic fluid applications in potable water systems. It features a durable ductile iron body with ArmorTek advanced epoxy coating for superior corrosion resistance and a SentryPlus Alert flood sensor to detect relief valve discharges. The assembly includes a cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass and is provided without shutoff valves, ensuring compliance with state and local codes. It offers reliable protection against backpressure and backsiphonage.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

The integrated flood sensor in this backflow preventer assembly requires an add-on connection kit to be fully activated. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component. Connection kit options enable the sensor to communicate and relay alerts for potential flooding events.

  • Connection kits can provide connectivity for Building Management Systems (BMS) or cellular network communication.
  • The Sensor Control Monitor (available separately) allows integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or connection to the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.

Additional Details

This 10 inch lead free MasterSeries® LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, especially in high hazard/toxic fluid applications for industrial installations.

This N pattern assembly comes without shutoff valves and includes a detector bypass with a cubic feet per minute (CFM) water meter, providing integrated protection against water contamination.

Advanced Corrosion Protection

  • Features ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system, applied to internal and external surfaces of the ductile iron valve body.
  • Engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate for extended durability.

Flood Detection & Alerting

  • Equipped with a flood sensor featuring SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • When paired with an add-on connection kit (sold separately), the sensor activates to relay multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding events.

Main Valve Features

  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components ensure maximum performance and durability.
  • Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools for maintenance.
  • Contains two independently acting clapper-style check modules with replaceable seats and disc rubbers.
  • Features a captured modular spring assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, and field replaceable seats.
  • The modular and repairable pressure differential relief valve includes a clapper check assembly and captured O-ring design.

Detector Bypass Assembly

  • Compact design remains within the main valve assembly profile.
  • Includes an inline serviceable 3/4 inch check assembly with field replaceable seat and disc.
  • Designed to detect potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.

Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

FAQs

What does "Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly" mean?

A Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (RPZDA) is a backflow preventer designed to protect potable water supplies from contamination caused by backpressure or backsiphonage of hazardous or toxic fluids, while also including a metered bypass for leak detection.

What does "Lead Free" imply for this backflow preventer?

"Lead Free" means the wetted surface of this product, which contacts consumable water, contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit this product?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate, significantly enhancing the durability and lifespan of the backflow preventer.

How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor work?

The SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When an add-on connection kit (sold separately) is installed, the sensor activates to relay multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding.

Are shutoff valves included with this specific LF886V assembly?

No, this specific 10 inch LF886V assembly (SKU F683209) is ordered with the "LG" option, meaning it comes without shutoff valves. Shutoff valves would need to be sourced separately.
