Additional Details

The 10 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) protects potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage in high-hazard or toxic applications, such as industrial installations. This lead-free backflow preventer features OSY shutoff valves, a cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass, and a flood sensor for enhanced monitoring.

Its ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, providing superior resistance to microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.

Features & Components

  • Ductile iron main valve body and relief valve body, coated with ArmorTek® for advanced corrosion protection.
  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components ensure maximum performance and durability.
  • Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools for maintenance.
  • Captured modular spring assembly with reversible and replaceable discs.
  • Includes OSY resilient wedge gate valves and field replaceable seats.
  • Clapper check assembly and captured O-ring design.
  • Auxiliary bypass line with a 5/8" x 3/4" water meter (CFM) to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.

Flood Sensor Technology

  • Equipped with a flood sensor featuring SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • Relays a signal that triggers a multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

FAQs

What type of applications is the FEBCO LF886V backflow preventer designed for?

This assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic applications, typically found in industrial installations.

Does this backflow preventer include a flood sensor, and how does it work?

Yes, it includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When an add-on connection kit is installed, the sensor relays a signal for multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding.

What kind of corrosion protection does this backflow preventer have?

The ductile iron body and internal/external surfaces are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature range for this unit?

The maximum working pressure for this backflow preventer is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and it operates continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).

Is this assembly lead-free?

Yes, the FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V is lead-free, with the wetted surface of the product containing less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.
