Description

The FEBCO 10 inch LF886V Lead Free Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is engineered to protect potable water systems from high hazard/toxic backpressure and backsiphonage conditions. Featuring a durable ductile iron body with patented ArmorTek® epoxy coating for superior corrosion resistance, this assembly includes OSY shutoff valves, stainless steel relief valve seat, a GPM metered bypass, and a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor. The sensor detects excessive relief valve discharge, and when paired with an add-on connection kit, relays alerts for potential flooding events. UL Classified and FM Approved, it ensures reliable backflow prevention for industrial applications. Item number F683232.

Help Me Connect

Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to be fully activated and communicate alerts.
  • Connection kit options include BMS (Building Management System), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor.
  • The Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.

Main Valve Connections

  • End connections are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

Auxiliary Bypass Monitoring

  • The compact auxiliary bypass line features an inline serviceable 3/4" check assembly and is designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage within the water system.

Additional Details

The FEBCO 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is engineered to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage, specifically for high hazard/toxic applications where Local Governing Water Utility Codes mandate protection.

This assembly incorporates OSY shutoff valves, clapper check modules, a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass, and features a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect excessive relief valve discharge.

Construction & Durability

  • The valve body components are made of Ductile iron Grade 65-45-12 and feature ArmorTek® powder coating, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, applied to internal and external surfaces to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates.
  • Designed with stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Lead Free construction complies with low lead installation requirements (wetted surface contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight).

Features

  • Inline serviceable assembly means no special tools are required for servicing both check modules.
  • Captured modular spring assembly allows for easy maintenance.
  • Equipped with reversible and replaceable discs and field replaceable seats.
  • Clapper check assembly and captured O-ring design.

Flood Sensor Technology

  • A sensor on the relief valve detects flood events caused by excessive water discharge.
  • The flood sensor relays a signal for a multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding.

Auxiliary Bypass

  • Compact design remains within the main valve assembly profile.
  • Inline serviceable 3/4" check assembly with field replaceable seat and disc, requiring no special tools.
  • Designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.

The flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

Thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information before beginning the installation of this product. Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements.

FAQs

What is the main purpose of the FEBCO LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly?

Its main purpose is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage from high hazard/toxic applications, adhering to Local Governing Water Utility Codes.

What is ArmorTek® coating, and what are its benefits?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy powder coating applied to the internal and external surfaces of the ductile iron components. It's engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing durability.

How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor function?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When an add-on connection kit is used, the sensor relays a signal to trigger multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding.

What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?
