Application & Installation
- This FEBCO MasterSeries LF886W/WZ backflow preventer is designed for N-Pattern (Horizontal) installation and provides a drop-in replacement for competitor’s valves with its longer gate-to-gate lay length.
- It is primarily used in potable drinking water systems and industrial installations to protect against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions from high hazard (toxic) fluids.
- The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive relief valve discharges. To activate its alerting capabilities, an add-on connection kit is required. Connection options include BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.

Additional Details
This 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (RPDA) protects potable water systems from high hazard (toxic) fluids caused by backpressure and backsiphonage in industrial and other applications.
The N-pattern assembly features a longer gate-to-gate length for drop-in replacement of competitor’s valves and is equipped with domestic OSY (Outside Stem & Yoke) shutoff valves.
Construction & Design
- Ductile iron body coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
- Contains two independently acting approved clapper style check modules with replaceable seats and disc rubbers.
- Includes replaceable stainless steel check seats and an improved stainless-steel relief valve seat for enhanced dependability and extended valve life.
- Features a 5/8 inch x 3/4 inch water meter on the auxiliary bypass line, measuring in cubic feet per minute (CFM), designed to detect leaks or unauthorized water usage.
Flood Detection
- Equipped with a flood sensor featuring SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- When activated with an add-on connection kit, the sensor relays alerts via multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding.
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.
- Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.

FAQs
What is the primary use of this backflow preventer?
This backflow preventer is primarily used to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination by high hazard (toxic) fluids caused by backpressure and backsiphonage, particularly in industrial and other applications.
What materials are used in the construction of the main valve body?
The main valve body and relief valve body are made from ductile iron Grade 65-45-12, coated with ArmorTek® powder coating for internal and external corrosion resistance.
Is the flood sensor immediately active for alerts upon installation?
No, an add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert capabilities. Without the kit, the sensor is a passive component and does not communicate.
What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?
This assembly comes with domestic OSY (Outside Stem & Yoke) resilient wedge gate shutoff valves, which are UL Classified and FM Approved.
What is the temperature range for operation?
The FEBCO LF886W/WZ backflow preventer can continuously operate in a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
