Description

The FEBCO 10 inch MasterSeries® LF886W/WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is designed for high hazard and toxic applications in potable water systems. It effectively protects against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions. Featuring a competitor N-pattern lay length, this lead-free assembly allows for a direct drop-in replacement. The ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek® for enhanced corrosion resistance, and stainless steel check components ensure durability. An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive relief valve discharge, providing an early warning for potential flooding when paired with an add-on connection kit. Item number F8007387.

Connectivity for Flood Sensor

  • The integrated flood sensor is a passive component until an add-on connection kit is installed and activated.
  • Connection kit options allow for diverse communication methods, including BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular communication, or integration with a BAS (Building Automation System) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi. These kits enable the sensor to relay alerts for potential flooding events.

System Compatibility

  • This N-pattern assembly is designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's 10 inch N-pattern valves, featuring a longer gate-to-gate lay length for seamless installation.
  • Ideal for protecting potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard (toxic) applications.

Additional Details

The 10 inch MasterSeries® LF886W/WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is engineered to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard (toxic) applications, commonly found in industrial installations. This N-pattern assembly provides a longer lay-length for drop-in replacement of competitor's valves.

Construction & Features

  • Features Lead Free construction to comply with low lead installation requirements.
  • The ductile iron body and relief valve body are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
  • Includes UL Classified and FM Approved OS&Y gate valves, a bypass, and ball valve test cocks.
  • Main valve components include a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Servicing of check modules requires no special tools and is accessed through independent top entry covers.
  • The auxiliary bypass line has a 5/8 inch x 3/4 inch water meter and is designed to detect leaks or unauthorized water usage.

Integrated Flood Sensor

  • Equipped with a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • An add-on connection kit (not included) is required to activate the flood sensor, enabling it to relay signals for potential flooding events via BMS, cellular communication, or integration with a BAS system through RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.
  • Notice: Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation. The flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO 10 inch LF886W/WZ backflow preventer?

Its primary function is to protect potable water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard (toxic) applications, commonly found in industrial settings.

What is "ArmorTek®" coating and why is it important?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is important because it reduces microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protects exposed metal surfaces, extending the life of the assembly.

How does the integrated flood sensor work?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities, an add-on connection kit is required, which enables communication via BMS, cellular, or Wi-Fi/Modbus to notify personnel of potential flooding.

Is this backflow preventer compatible with existing installations?

Yes, this N-pattern assembly is designed as a direct drop-in replacement for competitor's N-pattern valves, featuring a longer gate-to-gate lay length for easier integration into existing piping systems.

What are the main materials used in this backflow preventer?

The main valve and relief valve bodies are made of ductile iron Grade 65-45-12 with ArmorTek® coating. Key internal components like the relief valve seat, check seats, disc holder, and springs are stainless steel, while the elastomer discs are silicone.
