Description
Description
This 2 1/2 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is engineered to protect potable water systems from high hazard backpressure and backsiphonage. It features Lead Free construction, with wetted surfaces containing less than 0.25% lead. The ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek® advanced epoxy system for superior corrosion resistance, including protection against microbial-induced corrosion. Key components like the relief valve seat and check components are made of stainless steel for durability. An integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive discharges, which can relay alerts when paired with an add-on connection kit. The assembly has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI and includes OSY shutoff valves and a CFM metered bypass.

Flood Sensor Connectivity
- The integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to activate its communication features.
- Without a connection kit, the flood sensor operates as a passive component and does not relay alerts.
- Compatible connection kit options include those for Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor.
- The Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS via RS‑485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

FAQs
What is the primary use of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 backflow preventer?
This assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage of high hazard (toxic) fluids. It is typically used in industrial installations where local codes mandate such protection.
Is this product compliant with lead-free requirements?
Yes, the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 features Lead Free construction. The wetted surfaces of this product that come into contact with consumable water contain less than 0.25% of lead by weight.
What is ArmorTek® coating, and what does it do?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the unit's longevity and performance.
How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor work?
The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When an add-on connection kit is installed, the sensor can relay a signal to trigger multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding. Without the kit, the sensor is passive.
What is the maximum operating pressure for this backflow preventer?
The maximum working pressure for the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is 175 PSI. The minimum working pressure is 20 PSI.
