Description

The FEBCO 2 1/2 inch LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) protects potable water systems from high hazard backpressure and backsiphonage. This lead-free unit features ArmorTek® corrosion-resistant coating on ductile iron components and OSY shutoff valves. It includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect and notify personnel of excessive relief valve discharge, requiring an add-on connection kit for activation. The bypass assembly incorporates a CFM water meter to monitor for leaks or unauthorized water usage. With a maximum working pressure of 175 psi and a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F, it offers reliable performance for industrial and commercial applications.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

This backflow preventer assembly includes an integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology, designed to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate the sensor and enable multichannel alerts (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the flood sensor operates as a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.

End Connections

  • The assembly's end connections are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.
  • It is available for both Horizontal (N-Pattern) and Vertical Up (Z-Pattern) orientations.

Proper drainage is critical for installation. While the gap drain handles normal discharge, the floor drain size may need to be designed to prevent water damage from a complete failure condition. Do not reduce the drain line size from the air gap fitting. Installation must comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations. Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements.

Additional Details

This FEBCO 2 1/2 inch lead free MasterSeries LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) is designed to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard/toxic applications where local codes mandate protection.

It features a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, notifying personnel of potential flooding.

Construction & Design

  • Constructed with a ductile iron valve body and OSY resilient wedge gate valves.
  • All iron components are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, providing integrated protection against microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
  • Main valve features a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Designed for inline serviceability without special tools.
  • Incorporates a captured modular spring assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, and field replaceable seats.
  • Auxiliary bypass includes a CFM (cubic feet per minute) water meter to detect potential underground leaks or unauthorized water usage.

Flood Sensor Activation

  • The integrated flood sensor relays a signal that triggers a multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding events.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without this kit, the flood sensor functions as a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.
