Installation Orientation

This backflow assembly is approved for horizontal installation. Ensure the assembly is installed in accordance with the direction of the flow arrow for proper operation.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • An add-on sensor connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's advanced alert features. Without this kit, the sensor is passive.
  • With a connection kit, the sensor can integrate with BMS (Building Management Systems) or utilize cellular network communication.
  • When paired with a Sensor Control Monitor, it enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
  • For installing a drain line, use Watts 957AG air gaps and attach the air gap brackets directly onto the flood sensor.

Additional Details

The Watts Series 957 3 inch Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination due to backsiphonage or backpressure in health hazard applications.

This compact and lightweight assembly features a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, providing early notification of potential flooding events when paired with an add-on connection kit.

Construction & Design

  • Features a 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve for durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Includes two independent torsion spring check modules and a bottom-mounted cast stainless steel relief valve.
  • Equipped with quarter-turn ball valve shutoffs for easy operation.
  • Groove couplings allow for integral pipeline adjustment and ease of installation.
  • Designed to be extremely compact and up to 70% lighter than traditional designs.
  • Approved for horizontal installation, ensuring proper alignment with the flow arrow.

Flood Sensor Technology

  • The integrated flood sensor detects continuous discharge from the relief valve.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert features; without it, the sensor acts as a passive component.
  • Compatible with BMS (Building Management Systems) and cellular network communication when an add-on sensor connection kit is used.
  • Can integrate with a Sensor Control Monitor for alerts via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
