Help Me Connect

Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the integrated flood sensor. Without this kit, the sensor functions as a passive component and does not communicate with other devices.
  • Connection kit options provide various communication methods, including BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Bypass Assembly Functionality

  • The auxiliary bypass line, which includes a 5/8" x 3/4" water meter, is designed to detect potential leaks or unauthorized water usage within the water system.
  • This bypass also provides protection against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic applications.

Additional Details

This 3 inch lead free MasterSeries® LF866 Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for high hazard/toxic applications, in accordance with Local Governing Water Utility Codes.

Construction & Design

  • Features a ductile iron body coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Equipped with UL Classified and FM Approved OS&Y (Outside Stem and Yoke) resilient seated shutoff valves that comply with AWWA C515.
  • Includes replaceable stainless steel check seats, a stainless steel relief valve seat, and ball valve test cocks.
  • Incorporates Lead Free construction, ensuring the wetted surface contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, meeting low lead installation requirements.

Integrated Flood Sensor

  • Contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology on the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges.
  • When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor is activated to relay alerts (call, email, text) for potential flooding.
  • Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Auxiliary Bypass Assembly

  • Includes a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass with a 5/8" x 3/4" water meter, compliant with ANSI/AWWA Standard C700.
  • The bypass line detects potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage, while protecting against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions.
  • Features an inline serviceable 3/4" check assembly with field replaceable seat and disc; no special tools required for servicing.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.

Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
