Additional Details

The FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V 3 inch Lead Free Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) is designed to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage contamination in high hazard/toxic industrial applications.

This robust assembly features OSY shutoff valves and includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve, providing early notification of potential issues.

Construction & Durability

  • Features a ductile iron valve body coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
  • Equipped with stainless steel relief valve seats and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and extended durability.
  • Designed with inline serviceable assembly components that do not require special tools for maintenance.
  • Includes a modular and repairable pressure differential relief valve and clapper check assembly.

Flood Sensor & Connectivity

  • The integrated flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without this kit, the flood sensor functions as a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.
  • When activated, the sensor can relay a signal for multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding, and can integrate with BMS or cellular network communication.

Auxiliary Bypass

  • Features a compact design that remains within the main valve assembly profile.
  • Includes an inline serviceable 3/4" check assembly with field replaceable seat and disc.
  • Capable of detecting potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V backflow preventer?

Its primary function is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to high hazard (toxic) fluids caused by backpressure or backsiphonage, especially in industrial installations.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this backflow assembly?

"Lead Free" means that the wetted surface of this product, which comes into contact with consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

How does the ArmorTek® coating enhance the durability of the assembly?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate, thereby extending the life of the backflow preventer.

How does the flood sensor work, and does it require additional components?

The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its communication features and relay alerts, an add-on connection kit is required; without it, the sensor is passive.

What are the operating pressure and temperature limits for this device?

This backflow preventer has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI and a minimum working pressure of 20 PSI. It can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
