Flood Sensor Activation
- The integrated flood sensor is a passive component that requires an add-on connection kit to communicate with other devices and activate alerts.
- Without a connection kit, the flood sensor will not trigger notifications for potential flooding events.
- Connection kit options include those for BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details
This 3 inch lead free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for high hazard/toxic fluids in potable drinking water systems.
Key Features
- Features a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve, providing early notification of potential flooding.
- Incorporates ArmorTek® coating technology, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
- Designed with lead-free construction to comply with low lead installation requirements.
- Utilizes stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
- Includes a cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
Construction & Design
- Robust ductile iron valve body design for durability.
- Inline serviceable assembly means no special tools are required for maintenance.
- Features captured modular spring assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, and field replaceable seats for easy servicing.
- Equipped with four properly located resilient seated test cocks.
- The main valve assembly consists of two independently acting approved clapper style check modules with replaceable seats and disc rubbers.
Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

FAQs
What is the primary function of this backflow preventer assembly?
This MasterSeries LF886V assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, specifically in high hazard/toxic applications where local codes mandate protection.
What is ArmorTek® coating, and why is it important?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the ductile iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces, extending the life and reliability of the backflow preventer.
How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor work?
The SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor is integrated into the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges. When activated with an add-on connection kit, it can relay a signal to notify personnel about potential flooding via multichannel alerts (call, email, text).
Are shutoff valves included with this assembly?
No, this specific configuration (LG) of the LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly does not include shutoff valves. Shutoff valves would need to be sourced separately if required for your installation.
What is the purpose of the CFM metered bypass?
The cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass assembly is designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage within the water system, providing an additional layer of monitoring.
