Description

The FEBCO 3 inch MasterSeries® LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly protects potable water systems from high hazard backpressure and backsiphonage conditions. Featuring a lead-free ductile iron body with ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating, it resists microbial-induced corrosion. Stainless steel internal components ensure maximum performance and durability. This assembly includes an OSY shutoff, a cubic feet per minute metered bypass, and a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect excessive relief valve discharge. An add-on connection kit is required to activate the sensor for BMS, cellular, or Wi-Fi alerts. It is designed for industrial installations and complies with ASSE 1047 standards. Item number F683225.

Help Me Connect

Main Connections

  • This backflow preventer is designed for installation in water service lines, typically connecting via flanged ends compliant with ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

The integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit for activation and communication. Connection kit options include interfaces for BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular network communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi. Without a connection kit, the flood sensor operates as a passive component and will not communicate alerts.

Advanced Corrosion Protection

The ductile iron body is fused with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.

Integrated Flood Detection

This backflow assembly contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.

NOTICE: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. A retrofit sensor connection kit is also available for existing installations. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation. The information contained herein is not intended to replace the full product installation and safety information available or the experience of a trained product installer. You are required to thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information before beginning the installation of this product. Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements.

The wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO LF886V assembly?

The FEBCO LF886V is a Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly designed to protect potable water systems from contamination due to high hazard backpressure and backsiphonage conditions. It is used in industrial installations and applications.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this backflow preventer?

Lead Free means that the wetted surface of this product, when contacted by consumable water, contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

How does the ArmorTek® coating protect the backflow assembly?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, extending the life and durability of the assembly.

How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor work, and what is needed to activate it?

The SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the sensor is passive and will not communicate.

What are the maximum operating pressure and temperature range for this 3-inch assembly?

The maximum working pressure for this assembly is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and the operating temperature range is 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C) continuously.
