Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • The integrated flood sensor is a passive component until an add-on connection kit is installed.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert functions.
  • Connection kit options include those for Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor.
  • The Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.

Additional Details

This 3 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic applications, such as industrial installations. It features OSY shutoff valves, a GPM metered bypass, and a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology.

Key Features

  • Equipped with a flood sensor featuring SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • An add-on connection kit (required, not included) activates the flood sensor for BMS, cellular, or Wi-Fi network communication, enabling alerts for potential flooding events.
  • Ductile iron valve body design is coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
  • Includes stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Designed for inline servicing, requiring no special tools.
  • Features a compact detector bypass assembly with a GPM meter to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
  • Two independently acting clapper style check modules with replaceable seats and disc rubbers.
  • Captured modular spring assembly, reversible and replaceable discs, and field replaceable seats.

Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge. Always thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information before beginning installation.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO 3 inch LF886V backflow preventer?

The primary function is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage, particularly in high hazard and toxic applications. It prevents non-potable water from entering the clean water supply.

Does this backflow preventer comply with lead-free requirements?

Yes, this is a Lead Free MasterSeries® LF886V assembly. The wetted surface of the product that contacts consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

How does the flood sensor feature work?

The assembly includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alerting capabilities (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit (BMS, cellular, or Sensor Control Monitor with Wi-Fi) is required and sold separately.

What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?

This assembly is fitted with OSY (Outside Stem & Yoke) resilient wedge gate valves, which are UL Classified and FM Approved according to AWWA C515 standards.

What is the ArmorTek® coating?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the ductile iron components. It is engineered to provide integrated protection against electrochemical and microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) on both internal and external surfaces, enhancing durability and extending valve life.
