Description

This 3 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® N-pattern Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly (LF886V) protects potable water systems from high hazard contamination. Its ductile iron body features ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating for superior corrosion resistance and is lead-free compliant. Equipped with OSY shutoff valves, stainless steel internal components, and a detector bypass (less meter), it ensures reliable performance. A built-in SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive relief valve discharge, alerting personnel when paired with an add-on connection kit. Max working pressure is 175 psi, with a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

To activate the integrated flood sensor and enable alerts for excessive water discharge from the relief valve, an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the flood sensor functions as a passive component. Connection kit options include connectivity for Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular network communication, or integration with a Sensor Control Monitor. The Sensor Control Monitor enables communication with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details

This 3 inch lead free MasterSeries® N-pattern reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly protects against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for high hazard (toxic) applications in potable drinking water systems.

Features

  • Designed for high hazard/toxic applications in potable water systems where local codes mandate protection.
  • Includes OSY shutoff valves and clapper check modules.
  • Equipped with a detector bypass assembly less meter.
  • Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools for maintenance.
  • Features stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Utilizes a captured modular spring assembly and captured O-ring design.
  • Includes reversible and replaceable discs and field replaceable seats.

Corrosion Protection

  • The ductile iron valve body is coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system.
  • ArmorTek® coating technology is engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Complies with lead free construction for low lead installation requirements (less than 0.25% lead by weight on wetted surfaces).

Flood Detection with SentryPlus Alert®

  • Contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • The flood sensor relays a signal that triggers a multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding events.

Auxiliary Bypass

  • Features a compact design that remains within the main valve assembly profile.
  • Includes an inline serviceable 3/4" check assembly with field replaceable seat and disc.
  • Capable of detecting potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.

Installation of the flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to activate alerts for potential flooding. The flood sensor does not replace the need for proper drainage or compliance with all required installation codes and regulations.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of the FEBCO 3 inch LF886V backflow preventer?

This assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage, specifically in high hazard or toxic applications.

Is this backflow preventer assembly lead-free?

Yes, the FEBCO LF886V is constructed with lead-free materials, ensuring that the wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight.

What kind of corrosion protection does this backflow preventer have?

The ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.

What is the maximum operating pressure for this 3 inch model?

The maximum working pressure for this backflow preventer is 175 psi (12.1 bar).

How does the integrated flood sensor work?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated by an add-on connection kit, it can relay signals for multichannel alerts (call, email, text) about potential flooding.
