Description

The AMES 4000SS is a 4 inch lead free reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly. It protects potable water from contamination due to backsiphonage or backpressure from fire protection substances and non-potable water. Featuring a lightweight, corrosion-resistant stainless steel body and non-rising stem shutoff valves, this assembly is ideal for health-hazard cross-connections. A built-in SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive relief valve discharge and can be activated with an add-on connection kit for remote alerts. Its compact, modular design allows for easy maintenance and installation in various piping applications. Item number F0690497.

Additional Details

This 4 inch Ames Fire & Waterworks 4000SS Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water into the potable water supply. It provides protection against backsiphonage and backpressure in continuous pressure piping applications and at health-hazard cross-connections.

The assembly features a short lay length lightweight stainless steel body, resilient seated shutoff valves with non-rising stems (NRS), and a patented cam-check assembly. It includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, signaling facility personnel for corrective action.

Key Features

  • Lead Free* construction complies with current installation requirements, with wetted surfaces containing less than 0.25% lead by weight.
  • Stainless steel body provides long-term corrosion resistance, maximum strength, and is approximately half the weight of competitive designs, reducing installation and shipping costs.
  • Short end-to-end dimensions make retrofitting easy.
  • Patented cam-check assembly ensures maximum flow at low pressure drop.
  • No special tools required for servicing, facilitating straightforward maintenance.
  • Compact construction allows for smaller enclosures, optimizing installation space.
  • Stainless steel relief valve features a balanced rolling diaphragm, eliminating sliding seals and lowering maintenance costs.
  • Flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects continuous relief valve discharge.
  • Flood alert feature can be activated with an add-on sensor connection kit, compatible with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular network communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for BAS integration via RS-485 Modbus or Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor functions as a passive component with no communication to other devices. It is crucial to thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information before beginning the installation of this product.
