Description
Description
This 4 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly with OSY Shutoff Valves is engineered to protect potable water systems from high hazard (toxic) backpressure and backsiphonage. Featuring durable ductile iron construction with ArmorTek® corrosion-resistant coating and stainless steel internal components, it ensures long-term reliability. The integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor provides early detection of excessive relief valve discharge, alerting personnel to potential flooding. This lead-free assembly is ideal for industrial installations requiring robust backflow prevention and compliance with ASSE 1013 and AWWA C511 standards.

Flood Sensor Activation
The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology requires an add-on connection kit to be activated. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component and will not communicate alerts.
Connectivity Options
- Connection kit options include direct integration with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Cellular communication kits are available for remote alerts.
- The Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or through the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi connectivity.

Additional Details
This 4 inch lead free MasterSeries® reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from high hazard/toxic fluids caused by backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in industrial installations.
Construction & Design
- Features a ductile iron body coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
- Utilizes stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
- Equipped with outside stem and yoke (OSY) shutoff valves, spring-loaded check valves, and a pressure differential relief valve.
- Designed with lead free construction to comply with low lead installation requirements.
Flood Detection
- Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- The flood sensor relays a signal that triggers a multichannel alert (call, email, text) to notify personnel about potential flooding when an add-on connection kit is used.

FAQs
What type of hazards does the FEBCO LF860 protect against?
This assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from high hazard/toxic fluids caused by both backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, typically found in industrial applications.
Is this backflow preventer assembly lead-free?
Yes, the MasterSeries LF860 features lead-free construction, ensuring compliance with low lead installation requirements for potable water systems.
How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit the assembly?
The patented three-part ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating system is applied to the ductile iron body to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the longevity and durability of the assembly.
How does the flood sensor work, and what do I need to activate it?
The integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required; without it, the sensor is passive.
What type of shutoff valves are included with this model?
This particular model, the LF860-OSY-FS, comes equipped with UL Classified and FM Approved outside stem and yoke (OSY) resilient wedge gate valves, compliant with AWWA C515.
