Flood Sensor Connectivity

This backflow preventer includes a flood sensor designed to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate the sensor's alert capabilities, an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the flood sensor operates as a passive component and does not communicate with other devices for alerts.

Connection Kit Options

  • BMS (Building Management System) connection kit
  • Cellular Communication connection kit
  • Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS via RS‑485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details

The 4 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF866V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is engineered to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard/toxic applications.

This assembly with domestic outside stem and yoke (OS&Y) shutoff valves is designed for industrial installations and applications, ensuring compliance with low lead installation requirements.

Key Features

  • Features a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. An add-on connection kit is required to activate the sensor for alerts.
  • ArmorTek® coating technology, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, is applied to internal and external surfaces of the ductile iron components to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Equipped with a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance, durability, and extended valve life.
  • Detector bypass assembly includes a 5/8 inch x 3/4 inch water meter (CFM) designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
  • Lead Free construction complies with state codes and standards for reduced lead content. The wetted surface contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight.
  • Inline serviceable assembly with captured modular spring design allows for easy maintenance without special tools.

NOTICE: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.

FAQs

What type of hazards does this backflow preventer protect against?

This assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic applications.

Is this a lead-free product?

Yes, this FEBCO MasterSeries LF866V assembly features Lead Free construction, complying with low lead installation requirements. The wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight.

How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit the backflow preventer?

The patented ArmorTek® three-part advanced epoxy coating system is applied to the ductile iron components to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing durability and lifespan.

What is the purpose of the integrated flood sensor?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve, utilizing SentryPlus Alert® technology. When paired with an add-on connection kit, it can relay alerts for potential flooding events.

Does the flood sensor work right out of the box?

No, an add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert functionality. Without this kit, the sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.
