Description

This 4 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF880W Lead Free Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly protects potable water systems from high hazard (toxic) backpressure and backsiphonage in industrial applications. Designed for N-pattern installations, it offers a longer lay-length for direct drop-in replacement of competitor valves. The assembly features durable ductile iron construction with ArmorTek® epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, stainless steel relief valve seat, and check components for extended life. It includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharge. This model is supplied without shutoff valves and is ASSE 1013, UL, FM, and IAPMO/CUPC approved.

Compatibility & Installation

This FEBCO MasterSeries LF880W Reduced Pressure Zone assembly is designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's N-pattern valves due to its longer gate-to-gate length. It is configured for N-pattern installation.

The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit for activation and communication. Connection kit options include:

  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Cellular communication
  • Sensor Control Monitor (for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi)

This model is supplied without shutoff valves and includes test cocks for maintenance.

Additional Details

This 4 inch lead free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone backflow preventer assembly protects against high hazard (toxic) fluids in water services to industrial installations and applications. It features a longer lay-length for drop-in replacement of competitor’s N-pattern valves and is supplied without shutoff valves.

Features

  • Lead Free construction to comply with low lead installation requirements
  • Ductile iron body and relief valve body, coated with ArmorTek® epoxy system for microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and metal substrate protection
  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability
  • Inline serviceable assembly requires no special tools
  • Captured modular spring assembly and clapper check assembly
  • Reversible and replaceable discs and field replaceable seats
  • Modular and repairable pressure differential relief valve
  • Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor; without it, the sensor is a passive component and will not communicate.

FAQs

What type of hazard does this backflow preventer protect against?

This reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly protects against high hazard (toxic) fluids that could enter potable drinking water systems due to backpressure or backsiphonage conditions.

Is this backflow preventer a "lead-free" product?

Yes, the FEBCO MasterSeries LF880W is constructed with Lead Free materials, meaning the wetted surfaces contacting consumable water contain less than 0.25% lead by weight.

What is the purpose of the integrated flood sensor?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology is designed to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated with an add-on connection kit, it can relay alerts to personnel.

Does this assembly include shutoff valves?

No, this specific model (LF880-W-LG-FS) is supplied without shutoff valves ("LG" configuration). Shutoff valves would need to be sourced separately if required for your installation.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature for this backflow preventer?

The maximum working pressure for this assembly is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and it can operate continuously in a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
