Compatibility & Installation

  • The FEBCO MasterSeries LF886W Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is engineered for drop-in replacement of competitor's N-pattern valves due to its longer gate-to-gate length.
  • This assembly is suitable for installation on potable water supply lines at points of cross-connection to protect against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions.

Flood Sensor Activation

  • To activate the integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor, an add-on connection kit is required.
  • Without this kit, the flood sensor remains a passive component and will not communicate.
  • Connection kit options include interfaces for BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular communication, or integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details

This 4 inch lead free MasterSeries® reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly protects potable water systems from high hazard (toxic) fluids in industrial installations and applications by guarding against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions.

This valve features a longer gate-to-gate length, making it a direct drop-in replacement for competitor’s N-pattern valves. The assembly includes a ductile iron body with a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor, domestic OSY shutoff valves, replaceable stainless steel check seats, a bypass, and ball valve test cocks. Improved with a stainless-steel relief valve seat, these rugged assemblies offer enhanced dependability and extended valve life.

Flood Detection

  • Equipped with a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • Relays alerts for potential flooding events when paired with an add-on connection kit.
  • Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO LF886W Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly?

This assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, specifically for high hazard (toxic) fluids in industrial and commercial applications.

Is this backflow preventer assembly lead-free?

Yes, the wetted surfaces of this product that come into contact with consumable water contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with lead-free installation requirements.

How does the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor work?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When an add-on connection kit is installed, the sensor becomes active and can relay alerts via BMS, cellular communication, or Wi-Fi through the Sensor Control Monitor.

Can this backflow preventer replace an existing unit from another brand?

Yes, the FEBCO MasterSeries LF886W/WZ assembly is designed with a longer gate-to-gate length for direct drop-in replacement of competitor’s N-pattern valves, simplifying installation.

What kind of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?

This assembly comes with domestic OSY (Outside Stem & Yoke) resilient seated shutoff valves, which are UL Classified and FM Approved for reliable performance.
