Connections

  • This backflow preventer features groove couplings for ease of installation and integral pipeline adjustment.
  • For flood sensor activation, an add-on connection kit is required. These kits support compatibility with BMS (Building Management Systems) and cellular network communication.
  • The optional Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • When installing a drain line, use 957AG air gaps and attach the air gap brackets directly onto the flood sensor.

Additional Details

This 6 inch reduced pressure zone assembly backflow preventer helps protect the potable water system from contamination by preventing the reverse flow of liquids due to backpressure or backsiphonage, especially in health hazard applications. Its extremely compact design, 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve, and grooved gear operated butterfly valves with tamper switch make it a reliable and serviceable solution for water system protection.

Construction & Design

  • Features a 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve for durability.
  • Equipped with two independent torsion spring check modules with replaceable elastomer discs (EPDM, silicone, or Buna-N).
  • Includes a bottom mounted cast stainless steel relief valve.
  • Grooved gear operated butterfly valves with tamper switch for shutoff and monitoring.
  • Lead Free* bronze body for test cocks.
  • Groove couplings facilitate ease of installation and pipe alignment.
  • Extremely compact design, up to 70% lighter than traditional designs, allowing for smaller enclosures.
  • Designed for Z-pattern orientation and approved for horizontal installation.

Flood Detection & Alerts

  • Integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor activates to relay alerts for potential flooding events to facility personnel, helping to limit damage.
  • Connection kit options include compatibility with BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Important: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor for communication; without it, the sensor is a passive component. The flood sensor does not replace the need for proper drainage or compliance with all installation, operation, and maintenance instructions and codes.
