Additional Details

This 6 inch reduced pressure detector backflow preventer, assembled without shutoffs, is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and/or backpressure. It is used in health hazard applications and meets national plumbing codes and water authority requirements.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel body provides long-term corrosion resistance and maximum strength.
  • Half the weight of competitive designs, reducing installation and shipping costs.
  • Short end-to-end dimensions facilitate easy retrofit.
  • Bottom mounted relief valve reduces clearance requirements when installed against an outside wall.
  • Torsion spring check valves provide maximum flow at low pressure drop.
  • Thermoplastic and stainless steel check valves ensure trouble-free operation.
  • Compact construction allows for smaller enclosures.
  • Includes a flood sensor on the relief valve for flood detection.
  • Flood alert feature can be activated with an add-on sensor connection kit, compatible with BMS and cellular network communication.
  • Detects underground leaks and unauthorized water use.
  • Furnished with a gallons per minute (GPM) meter.
  • Modular design facilitates easy maintenance with a single access cover for in-line repairs.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
