Description

This 6 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly provides critical protection against backpressure and backsiphonage in potable water systems handling high hazard or toxic fluids, commonly found in industrial settings. Its ductile iron body is treated with ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating for superior corrosion resistance. Key components like the relief valve seat and check components are stainless steel for durability and extended service life. The assembly includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology, which, when activated by an add-on connection kit, detects excessive water discharge. It operates within a 33°F to 140°F range and a maximum working pressure of 175 psi.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

This backflow preventer features an integrated flood sensor. To activate and utilize the flood detection capabilities, an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component and will not communicate alerts.

  • Connection kit options include: BMS (Building Management System), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor.
  • The Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • A retrofit sensor connection kit is also available for existing installations.

Additional Details

This 6 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly is designed to protect potable water systems against backpressure and backsiphonage from high hazard (toxic) fluids, primarily in industrial installations.

Key Features

  • Ductile iron valve body coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Features a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Equipped with domestic non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves.
  • Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, triggering multichannel alerts (call, email, text) when activated by an add-on connection kit.

Design & Serviceability

  • Inline serviceable assembly; no special tools required.
  • Captured modular spring assembly.
  • Reversible and replaceable discs.
  • Field replaceable seats.
  • Modular and repairable pressure differential relief valve.
  • Clapper check assembly.
  • Captured O-ring design.

An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
