FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 assembly?

This assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage, specifically in high hazard/toxic applications within industrial installations.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this product?

"Lead Free" indicates that the wetted surface of this product, which contacts consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements and state codes.

How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit this backflow preventer?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the assembly's lifespan and reliability.

How does the flood sensor work, and what is required for it to be active?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities for potential flooding events, an add-on connection kit is required. This kit enables communication via BMS, cellular, or Wi-Fi through a Sensor Control Monitor.

What is included with this specific LF866 assembly?

This 6 inch LF866 assembly includes a ductile iron body with ArmorTek coating, replaceable stainless steel check seats, a flood sensor, and a 5/8" x 3/4" cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass. It is supplied without shutoff valves.
