Description

The FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly, 6 inch with OSY shutoff valves, provides crucial protection against high hazard backpressure and backsiphonage in potable water systems. Its ductile iron body features ArmorTek® epoxy coating for superior corrosion resistance, complemented by stainless steel internal components for extended durability. This lead-free assembly includes a cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass to detect leaks and unauthorized usage, and an integrated flood sensor to alert for relief valve discharge when paired with a connection kit. It is designed for industrial installations and applications requiring robust backflow prevention.

Help Me Connect

Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to activate alert functionalities for potential flooding events.
  • Connection kit options include BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Bypass Line Monitoring

  • The auxiliary bypass line is designed to detect potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage within the water system.

Main Valve Connections

  • The assembly's end connections are compliant with ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

Additional Details

This 6 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for high hazard/toxic fluids in water services to industrial installations and applications.

The assembly features OSY (Outside Stem and Yoke) shutoff valves, a ductile iron body, replaceable stainless steel check seats, a cubic feet per minute (CFM) metered bypass, and ball valve test cocks. The ductile iron body is fused with patented 3-part ArmorTek® epoxy coating for advanced corrosion resistance, delivering integrated protection against electrochemical and microbial-induced corrosion. Improved with a stainless-steel relief valve seat, these rugged assemblies yield greater dependability and extended valve life.

The assembly includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events. An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 assembly?

The primary function of this assembly is to protect potable drinking water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, specifically for high hazard/toxic applications in industrial installations.

What is ArmorTek® coating, and what are its benefits?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron body. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect against electrochemical corrosion, enhancing the assembly's durability and lifespan.

How does the flood sensor feature work?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate real-time alerts (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required; without it, the sensor acts as a passive component.

What are the maximum and minimum operating pressures for this backflow preventer?

The maximum working pressure for this assembly is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and the minimum working pressure is 20 psi (1.4 bar).

What type of shutoff valves does this assembly include?

This assembly is fitted with UL Classified and FM Approved OSY (Outside Stem and Yoke) resilient seated shutoff valves, which comply with ANSI/AWWA C515.
