Description

This 6 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF886WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) is designed for high hazard/toxic applications in potable water systems. It features a Z-pattern configuration with a longer lay-length for direct drop-in replacement of competitor valves. Key attributes include Lead Free construction, durable ArmorTek® epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, and domestic OSY shutoff valves. An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive relief valve discharge, requiring an optional connection kit for active alerts. This assembly ensures maximum performance and durability, complying with local governing water utility codes and industry standards. Item F8007415.

Help Me Connect

The FEBCO MasterSeries LF886WZ assembly is designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's Z-pattern valves, offering a longer gate-to-gate length for easy installation. It is specifically engineered for high hazard/toxic applications on potable drinking water systems.

The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology requires an add-on connection kit to activate its alert capabilities. Without this kit, the sensor operates passively. Connection kit options include:

  • Building Management Systems (BMS) integration
  • Cellular communication
  • Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi

Additional Details

The 6 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF886WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from high hazard (toxic) fluids. This assembly effectively prevents backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in accordance with Local Governing Water Utility Codes, making it ideal for industrial installations and applications.

This valve features a longer lay-length for drop-in replacement of competitor’s Z-pattern valves and incorporates a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.

Main Valve Features

  • Stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability
  • Longer gate-to-gate length for drop-in replacement of longer valves
  • Inline serviceable assembly; no special tools required
  • Captured modular spring assembly
  • Reversible and replaceable discs
  • Field replaceable seats
  • Ductile iron valve body design
  • ArmorTek® coating technology to resist corrosion of internals
  • Modular and repairable pressure differential relief valve
  • Clapper check assembly
  • Captured O-ring design
  • Flood sensor on relief valve for flood detection, activated by an add-on connection kit for BMS or cellular network communication

Auxiliary Bypass Features

  • Compact design; remains in main valve assembly profile
  • Inline serviceable 3/4 inch check assembly; no special tools required
  • No special tools required for servicing
  • Field replaceable seat and disc
  • Detect potential underground water leaks
  • Detect unauthorized water usage
  • CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) metered bypass

Construction & Technology

  • Lead Free construction to comply with low lead installation requirements (wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight)
  • ArmorTek®: A patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates
  • Includes domestic outside stem and yoke (OSY) shutoff valves

Notice: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Watts® is not responsible for the failure of alerts due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

FAQs

What type of fluid protection does this backflow preventer offer?

This MasterSeries LF886WZ assembly provides protection against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for high hazard (toxic) fluids in potable drinking water systems.

Is this backflow preventer designed for specific installation patterns?

Yes, this assembly features a Z-pattern orientation with a longer gate-to-gate length, making it suitable for drop-in replacement of competitor's Z-pattern valves.

What is the purpose of the ArmorTek® coating?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the iron components to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing durability and valve life.

How does the integrated flood sensor work?

The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its multichannel alert capabilities (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required. Without the kit, it functions passively.

What are the maximum operating pressure and temperature limits for this assembly?

The maximum working pressure for this 6 inch LF886WZ backflow preventer is 175 PSI (12.1 bar), and it can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
