Compatibility and Installation
- This 6 inch LF886W/WZ backflow preventer is specifically designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's Z-pattern valves due to its longer gate-to-gate length.
- The assembly is fitted with flanged end connections, which comply with ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards for secure pipe integration.
- The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit (BMS, cellular, or Sensor Control Monitor/Nexa platform via Wi-Fi/Modbus) to activate its alert capabilities.

Additional Details
The FEBCO MasterSeries LF886W/WZ Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (Type II) is a 6 inch backflow preventer designed to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic applications. It is an ideal drop-in replacement for competitor Z-pattern valves in industrial and other water service installations.
Product Highlights
- Lead Free construction ensures compliance with low lead installation requirements.
- Designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's Z-pattern valves, featuring a longer gate-to-gate length.
- Iron components are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
- Includes UL Classified and FM Approved domestic OS&Y shutoff valves for reliable isolation.
- Features stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
- Equipped with a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor relays signals for potential flooding events via multichannel alerts.
- Please note: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.
- The bypass line incorporates a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass (5/8" x 3/4" water meter) to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.

FAQs
What is the primary purpose of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF886W/WZ?
This 6 inch Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly (RPDA) is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination caused by backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard applications.
Does this backflow preventer replace competitor models easily?
Yes, it features a longer gate-to-gate length specifically engineered for convenient drop-in replacement of competitor's Z-pattern backflow preventer valves.
How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit the assembly?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system that coats the iron components, providing integrated protection against electrochemical corrosion and microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) for extended product life.
What is the function of the flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology?
The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities for notifications (call, email, text), an add-on connection kit is required.
What are the main material components of this backflow preventer?
The main valve and relief valve bodies are ductile iron Grade 65-45-12 with ArmorTek® coating. Check seats, relief valve seat, disc holder, and springs are stainless steel, while elastomer discs are silicone.
