Flood Sensor Connectivity

The integrated flood sensor is designed to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its communication capabilities and enable alerts for potential flooding events, an add-on connection kit is required. These kits offer various integration options:

  • BMS: Building Management System integration.
  • Cellular Communication: For remote alerts via cellular networks.
  • Sensor Control Monitor: Enables integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.

Without one of these add-on connection kits, the flood sensor functions as a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.

Additional Details

The FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage caused by high hazard/toxic fluids in industrial applications, ensuring water safety.

This 6 inch lead-free assembly features an advanced ArmorTek® coating for superior corrosion resistance and a flood sensor for enhanced monitoring.

Key Features

  • Lead Free Construction: Complies with low lead installation requirements.
  • Ductile Iron Body: Main and relief valve bodies constructed from durable ductile iron Grade 65-45-12.
  • ArmorTek® Coating: Patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to internal and external surfaces to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Stainless Steel Components: Relief valve seat, check components, disc holder, and spring are stainless steel for maximum performance and durability.
  • Inline Serviceable: Designed for easy maintenance without special tools.
  • Flood Sensor with SentryPlus Alert® Technology: Detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve and can relay signals for potential flooding alerts when activated with an add-on connection kit.
  • OSY Shutoff Valves: UL Classified and FM Approved OSY resilient wedge gate valves compliant with AWWA C515.
  • Detector Bypass Assembly: Less meter, for detecting potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.

NOTICE: The flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to be activated for communication. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component. Watts® is not responsible for alert failures due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.

NOTICE: This product must be installed by a trained product installer who has thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information. Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF886V backflow preventer?

Its primary purpose is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage in high hazard/toxic applications, in compliance with local water utility codes.

Is this backflow preventer compliant with lead-free requirements?

Yes, this assembly features Lead Free construction, meaning the wetted surface of the product contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

How does the ArmorTek® coating protect the backflow preventer?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the internal and external surfaces of the iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, extending the life of the assembly.

What is the function of the integrated flood sensor?

The flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated with an add-on connection kit, it can relay a signal to personnel via call, email, or text to notify them about potential flooding events.

What are the maximum and minimum operating pressures for this assembly?

The maximum working pressure is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and the minimum working pressure is 20 psi (1.4 bar).
