Description

The FEBCO 6 inch LF886V Lead Free Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly with OSY shutoff valves protects potable water supplies from high hazard backsiphonage and backpressure. Its ductile iron body features ArmorTek® coating for superior corrosion resistance and includes stainless steel internal components for durability. This assembly is equipped with a GPM metered bypass for leak detection and a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect relief valve discharge. UL Classified and FM Approved, it ensures reliable protection for industrial and municipal water systems. Item number F683228.

Help Me Connect

Connections

  • This assembly features flange x flange end connections, compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange.

Flood Sensor Connectivity

  • The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit for activation and communication. Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor (for BAS via RS-485 Modbus or Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi). Without a connection kit, the sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device.

Installation Orientation

  • The assembly can be installed in either a horizontal (N-Pattern) or vertical up (Z-Pattern) flow orientation, both approved by FCCCHR-USC, ASSE, cULus, FM, and IAPMO/CUPC.

Additional Details

This 6 inch Lead Free MasterSeries® LF886V Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Assembly protects potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage caused by high hazard/toxic fluids, suitable for industrial installations and applications. It is designed to comply with local governing water utility codes and mandates for reduced lead content.

Construction & Durability

  • Features a ductile iron valve body with patented ArmorTek® powder coating, a three-part advanced epoxy system, to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.
  • Includes stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
  • Designed for inline serviceability; check module maintenance does not require any special tools.

Bypass & Detection Features

  • Equipped with a detector bypass assembly with GPM meter to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
  • Incorporates a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated with an add-on connection kit, the sensor relays signals for potential flooding events.

Shutoff Valves

  • This assembly includes UL Classified and FM Approved OS&Y resilient wedge gate valves, designed to ASME B16.1 Class 125 & AWWA Class D Flange.

NOTICE: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component that does not communicate with any other device. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

FAQs

What is the primary use of this backflow preventer?

This backflow preventer is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage, especially in high hazard/toxic applications in industrial settings, complying with local codes.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this product?

"Lead Free" indicates that the wetted surface of the product, which contacts consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight. This complies with low lead installation requirements and applicable standards.

How does the flood sensor function?

The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. An add-on connection kit (sold separately) is required to activate the sensor and enable it to relay alerts (call, email, text) to personnel about potential flooding events.

What type of shutoff valves are included?

This assembly includes UL Classified and FM Approved OS&Y (Outside Stem and Yoke) resilient wedge gate valves. These valves provide reliable isolation and are designed for durability and performance.

What is ArmorTek® coating?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the ductile iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the longevity of the assembly.
